Mid-Eastern Regional Clock Exhibit King of Prussia, Pa.
This Exhibit happened on October 26-28, 1972. The Exhibit at the Med-Eastern Regional Meeting at the Holiday Inn, King of Prussia, October 1972, was planned to concentrate on clocks by Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania makers and included a number of clocks which had never been exhibited before. A few bracket clocks from England were exhibited to show their continuing influence on designs and styles. Descriptions on most of the clocks were prepared and given to the members attending the regional meeting. The quality of the exhibit and the descriptive material were such that NAWCC Chapter No. 1 decided to publish this booklet to create a permanent record to add to the growing amount of data on American clocks. Soft cover. Excellent condition.
    ·
Heman Clark and the Salem Bridge Shelf Clocks
by Chris H. Bailey. NAWCC Bulletin Supplement No. 13. From about 1817 until 1845 a rack-and-snail striking brass movement shelf clock was manufactured in the Naugatuck River Valley of Connecticut. From its development and early manufacture in the portion of Plymouth, Connecticut known as Plymouth Hollow (now Thomaston) until its later manufacture and demise at Salem Bridge (now Naugatuck, Connecticut), the quality of this clock movement was maintained at a high level. The true hero of the story of this clock is Heman Clark, perhaps America’s most overlooked clockmaking notable. This writing is an attempt to give Mr. Clark and his associates some of the credit they have long deserved. 104 pages. Soft cover. Copyright 1980. Excellent condition.
    ·
