    Description

    There are but a few incidents in U.S. history that can be called monumental.  The bombing of Pearl Harbor by the Japanese is one of those - December 7, 1941.  These newspapers report that incident the following day.  These papers are not just the front covers - they are the complete issues of the day.  Also very interesting to read the other news and sports of the time.  If you are old enough, you know that back in the day Milwaukee had two different papers - the Journal and the Sentinel.
    These newspapers came from the estate of a retired U.S. Army Colonel.  He was an avid collector and historian of U.S. military history.
    This listing is for two original, complete newspapers.   One price for the pair.  Free shipping to any of the 50 U.S. states.
    Both newspapers are from December 8, 1941,  the day after the bombing - both Milwaukee newspapers.  These papers are now 83 years old.
    1.  THE MILWAUKEE SENTINEL.   Two sections.  Total 22 pages.  Much news on the war.  Also sports, comics, ads, etc.  Cost of this issue was THREE CENTS!
    2.  THE  MILWAUKEE JOURNAL.  Two sections plus the famous Journal 'Green Sheet'.  Total 44 pages.  Includes multiple full page ads for department stores - Gimbels, Schusters, Pennys, Boston Store.  Comics include Li'l Abner, Superman and more.  Sports news on the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers.     Cost of  this issue THREE CENTS - (but on Sundays it was a dime!).
    Very good condition overall.  No interior markings or stains.  No torn or bent pages.  Just some slight tattering at some of the page edges,  I think pretty remarkable condition for how old they are - newspapers don't usually survive this well.  See photos please.
